WAUHAUS x Aliisa Talja

Spheres of Care is a series of performative events, a nurturing oasis’ and reservoir of rests, where we focus on care amidst emotional, social, and ecological crises. The events gathers together researchers, artists, activists, and other interested parties. The events offers a multitude of perspectives to care and nurture; we look at care in relation to self, society, and soil. We gather around a wide range of information through lectures, practices, and performances.

Inna Perheentupa is a postdoctoral researcher in sociology at the University of Turku. In her research, she has specialized in issues of activism, social change, political imagination, everyday participation and politics, democracy and equality.

Tero Mustonen (Adjunct professor, professional fisher) is the Chairperson for Snowchange Cooperative. He has served as the Lead Author in the IPCC and in several Arctic Council research positions.

Leena Reittu is a 32-year-old sculptor from Joensuu. Her works often consist of site-specific sculptural installations that reference the artist’s personal history while also being part of a global or societal theme.

Sannu Vaarala is a northern textile artist who works in Rovaniemi and Kittilä. She holds a master's degree in social sciences and in her works, she explores the dialogue between urban and natural environments, the temporal layers of environment and culture, as well as the meanings attributed to phenomena

Spheres of Care Vuosaari was a three day performative event, a nurturing oasis’ and reservoir of rests, where we focused on care amidst emotional, social, and ecological crises. The weekend gathered together researchers, artists, activists, and other interested parties. The event offered a multitude of perspectives to care and nurture; we looked at care in relation to self, society, and soil. We gathered around a wide range of information through lectures, practices, and performances.
